5-Year HealthPrevent 360
It's like life insurance that tries to keep you alive longer, instead of kicking in when your gone!
Personalized 5-Year plan based on the latest scientific evidence & early detection technologies
Comprehensive Clinical, Lifestyle, Occupational, & Environmental evaluation
Directed by a Board-Certified physician prevention expert using the most advanced prevention platform
A different approach
Our approach was developed to address three important factors impacting disease prevention:
MANY FACTORS ACCOUNTS FOR DISEASE PREVENTION
By far, our nutrition, activity, sleep, mental health and avoiding tobacco have the greatest impact on our health. But comprehensive prevention, requires lifestyle factors combined with your standard clinical well visit, and consideration of environmental and occupational exposures, which often unknowingly lead to significant disease (for example, Radon exposure is the 2nd leading cause of Lung Cancer after cigarettes).
HEALTH INSURANCE CAN’T INVEST IN PREVENTION LIKE IT DOES FOR DISEASE
Because individuals aren’t typically covered by the same health insurance for years, its hard for health insurance to invest in treatments that don’t provide immediately savings. For mandated prevention to support early-detection of major disease, the current model isn’t optimal at accounting for your individual factors to customize and support you.
EXPONENTIAL UNDERSTANDING OF DISEASE RISK, PREVENTION & EARLY DETECTION
Science is advancing exponentially daily, from improved understanding of risk, to new technologies that can detect catastrophic disease much earlier. Individuals need holistic, un-biased guidance from a prevention expert with full understanding of your health history, your tolerance for false positives to reduce the risk of not catching something early enough to be treated, and your budget.
What's in it for you
A personalized 5-Year plan based on the latest science, to help you stay around longer, and with more energy for those you love!

HealthPrevent 360 Program
I see you have three programs, what are the differences? Our flagship program is our HealthPrevent 360 program. This is the full program, guided by a board-certified physician prevention expert, combined with our comprehensive online evaluation including clinical, lifestyle, environmental, occupational, lab, diagnostic, 23andMe and tracker data (350-point inspection). This program results in a personalized 5-Year prevention plan inclusive of standard guidelines, and the latest emerging prevention and early disease detection technologies. Our HealthPrevent 360 PLUS program, is the same as the 360, but designed for those who may find it harder to complete the entire evaluation online by themselves, and would like to meet with their assigned board-certified physician prevention expert at the very end to review the 5-Year prevention plan together online via Zoom. These individuals can also schedule time with a health coach to complete the online evaluation together online via Zoom, before meeting with their physician. We received early feedback that it would be helpful to have an entry-level abbreviated program, which can be upgraded to the full 360 program afterwards if desired. That is now our HealthPrevent 180 program, which is fully automated, does not include guidance from a physician, and therefore the evaluation leaves out clinical data that is integral to our 360 program and generating a 5-year prevention plan inclusive of standard and emerging technologies. Our 180 program is thorough with a 150-point inspection including environmental, occupational, and mental health, yet quicker to complete, and results in a 2-year prevention action plan limited to standard prevention guidelines. At the end of the 180 program, individuals will have the option to upgrade to the 360 program.
I'm not exactly clear on why I need the HealthPrevent 360 program? With our HealthPrevent 360 program, you invest in proactive, personalized health care to enhance longevity and quality of life. You'll gain an evidence-based, comprehensive 5-year prevention plan, created by board-certified prevention experts, that is tailored specifically to your health and greatest areas of risk. This plan will not only focus on immediate health concerns, but also on important lifestyle factors and potential environmental exposures, offering a holistic approach to your well-being. It's like life insurance that tries to keep you alive longer, instead of kicking in when you're gone!
What are the steps of the HealthPrevent 360 program? Our program begins with a clinical, lifestyle, environmental, occupational and diagnostic evaluation, collected through an online questionnaire, which undergoes an initial, AI supported review by a board certified physician prevention expert. When indicated, your physician will request additional information, which may include lab results, past imaging and screening test results, physician notes, and/or additional assessments and questionnaires. Once the requested information is received, a final review will be conducted by your physician, resulting in the creation of your personalized 5-Year Prevention Action Plan. This plan attempts to quantify areas of health risk, followed by actionable steps you can take to stay healthy and manage disease effectively, leveraging the latest science and technology. By following your plan, you'll be on the best path to health and wellness. The program ends with you equipped with a plan and knowledge to implement healthier lifestyle changes. Our unbiased guarantee ensures we recommend only what's best for you.
The HealthPrevent 360 program begins with an online questionnaire, can you tell me more? After paying, a welcome email will be dispatched to you containing a link to our comprehensive questionnaire that you can complete online via your computer, web-enabled tablet or mobile device. Designed to capture an in-depth understanding of your health status, these questionnaires cover key topics such as Sleep, Nutrition, Weight Management, Exercise, Mental Health, Purpose and Connection, Smoking, Substance Use, Medical Symptoms, and Preventive Services. With 280 adaptive questions, it requires about 20 minutes to complete. Your board certified physician prevention expert then conducts an initial review of your data, and based on this review will often request additional information needed such as lab or imaging results, physician notes, assessments or additional questionnaires.
Can you tell me more about the physician's role in the HealthPrevent 360 program? The HealthPrevent 360 program is guided by a board-certified physician prevention expert. This physician has completed additional specialized training in public health and prevention to achieve recognition by the American Board of Preventative Medicine. Our technology platform facilitates your physician's review of your data, and communication with you to request and receive any additional information need to very thoroughly assess your current health status, and make recommendations. Within 1-2 business days of submitting any supplemental information, your personalized 5-Year Prevention Action Plan will be finalized and ready for your review!
Why is an environmental evaluation part of this program?Harmful environmental exposures can occur through the air we breath, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the places where we live, work and play! Examples include air contaminants, toxic waste, radiation, disease-causing microorganisms and plants, pesticides, heavy metals, chemicals in consumer products, and extreme temperature and weather events. For example, there is significant scientific evidence that shows particle pollution, or particulate matter (PM) in haze, smoke or dust, can cause adverse cardiovascular effects and premature death, and is likely to cause respiratory effects. Radon gas naturally released from rocks, soil, and water is the leading environmental cause of cancer, and the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. Radon can get in your home through cracks and holes in your home's foundation, and build up in the air. Below is an environmental analysis from the 5-Year prevention action plan of a patient. In addition to detailed clinical and environmental environmental evaluations, our program is unique because we also include a detailed occupational evaluation.
The program ends with my personalized 5-Year prevention plan, can you tell me more? The HealthPrevent 360 program ends with your personalized 5-Year Prevention Action Plan. This isn't your run-of-the-mill set of prevention recommendations, but a personalized plan customized to your health and potential risks, expertly devised by your assigned physician prevention expert. Drawing insights from your Questionnaire responses, initial and final reviews by your physician prevention expert, including any additional lab or diagnostic data you shared, it compiles key findings into four areas: Clinical, Lifestyle, Occupational, and Environmental. Clinical findings are organized by organ system, Lifestyle organized by key pillars like healthful eating, physical activity, stress management, relationships, and sleep. The Environmental area includes the assessment of potential health hazards related to your home and zip code, and the Occupational area highlights realized and unrealized hazards associated with your job type. The plan will highlight your top areas of health risk. It then outlines actionable steps over the next 5-years, including a broader scope of evidence-based prevention recommendations beyond what is typically feasible at your annual wellness visit with your PCP. The plan may also include referrals to specialists for preventive screenings or to address specialized health issues, and new diagnostic technologies not yet reflected in published guidelines, but with early, strong scientific evidence and the possibility to support your goals. Because of our No-Bias Guarantee; where we promise to not receive a commission on products or services we recommend, you can rest assured that recommendations from our physician prevention experts are purely based on the scientific evidence and your personalized health needs. Thus, your 5-Year Prevention Plan is a genuine, unbiased roadmap towards a healthier future.
What type of actions are recommended in the 5-Year Action Plan?Your 5-Year Prevention Action Plan is as much as roadmap, as it is a live discussion with your physician prevention expert. This plan is inclusive of the standard prevention guidelines and recommendations, as well as emerging early disease detection technologies. Here are a few of the types of actions that could be included in your Prevention plan, that your doctor will review with you in depth during your final consultation.
Do I need a fitness tracker? No, we do not require that you have a fitness tracker, but we do believe the information collected can be very helpful. We highly recommend Fitbit fitness trackers, which can automatically sync with our software once you grant permission, and can last 5-7 days continuously on a single charge! If you have a tracker, we ask that you wear your fitness tracker 24 hours a day for 3-5 days. We can further personalize your 5-Year prevention action plan by including your tracker data, in addition to clinical, lifestyle, environmental, and occupational data. Recommended tracker: A Fitbit Inspire 3 with 24/7 heart rate monitoring, plus sleep monitoring and 10 day battery life retails for about $79.99 on Amazon, and comes with a 6-month Fitbit Premium trial including all-levels workouts you can incorporate into the first year of your personalized 5-year prevention action plan.
What is your No-Bias Guarantee? Our no-bias guarantee is separate and different than our 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee. We believe the relationship with your doctor should be built on trust from day one, so we instituted a no-bias guarantee, and promise to not receive a commission on any product or service we recommend to our patients through our Prevent 4 Life Programs. Therefore, with our No-Bias guarantee, you can rest assured that we will only recommend a product or service that we believe based on your comprehensive evaluation and goals, will be the best fit for you!
What wellness labs do you recommend? We recommend a standard wellness suite of labs including the following: Estradiol (E2), the predominant, and most potent, circulating estrogen. It plays an important role in modulating immunity. Progesterone (Pg) balances the actions of estradiol in the body and has wide-ranging physiological roles. Testosterone (T) and DHEA-S (DS) help maintain libido and increase lean muscle mass and metabolic rate. In women, high T and DHEA are linked to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), insulin resistance, and abdominal weight gain. Cortisol imbalances can create problems with blood sugar control, sleep patterns, appetite, food cravings, and the immune system. Chronically elevated cortisol is a risk factor for pre-diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) elevations, even within the high-normal range, are linked with hypothyroidism, low metabolic rate and weight gain. Vitamin D (D2, D3) deficiency does not have obvious symptoms but has been linked with a wide range of diseases including susceptibility to infections like flu, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, depression, and several cancers. Fasting Insulin (In), when elevated, is a marker of insulin resistance which precedes metabolic syndrome, PCOS, and type 2 diabetes. Increased levels, particularly in concert with cortisol lead to central obesity and increased inflammatory and other cardiovascular disease markers. Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is an indirect measure of the average circulating glucose levels over the previous three months. Normally between 4% and 5.6%, levels between 5.7% and 6.4% are indicative of poor blood sugar control and prediabetes, while 6.5% or more is indicative of type 2 diabetes and consequently high cardiovascular disease risk. Blood lipids (triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and VLDL) are a barometer of cardiovascular disease risk that can be improved by fitness training and other lifestyle modifications such as better diet. High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) gives an indication of inflammation in the body. If you have completed these labs with your primary care doctor within the last 6 months, we can accept these labs instead of having to complete them again if you prefer. The blood work can be completed at a local Quest (2,200 locations nationwide) collection site. Alternatively, individuals can request an at home collection kit that requires 4 saliva samples throughout the day (to measure changes in Cortisol levels), and a few drops of blood from a finger prick (for all the other hormones) using a specialized and highly accurate service through ZRT laboratory (https://www.zrtlab.com/test-specialties/wellness-testing/). In some, cities, it may be possible to request an in-home lab draw. IMPORTANT: Although review of relevant lab results by your physician prevention expert is included in your 5-Year HealthPrevent 360 Program, all newly ordered lab work will require additional fees paid directly to the lab. In some cases, your insurance company may cover the fees, but Healthier Life Medicine PLLC does not work with insurances to complete coverages. Average lab fees for wellness labs as mentioned above range from $300-$500 depending depending on the lab and city.
Do you take the place of my primary care provider? No, we do not take the place of your primary care provider. Your primary care provider is an important part of your care team, can physically touch and evaluate you in person which we cannot, and will be available to manage any acute or chronic issues, including but not limited to prescribing medications (our doctors can prescribe medications, but don't as part of this program). Your primary care provider will generally follow the standard recommended guidelines for prevention and screening, that will also be included in our recommendations. In a medical emergency, you should still always contact 911, go to an emergency room, or rely on your local physician for non-emergent issues. All that said, our program goes much further than the standard clinical evaluation offered by most primary care providers, because we are not limited by insurance or other compliance requirements that eat into the amount of time your primary care provider has with you. Furthermore, our board certified physicians are prevention experts, and have dedicated their careers with significant amount of additional training after learning to manage disease, to learn how to prevent disease. Last but not least, our program leverages advanced technology and tools to engage our patients outside of the clinic, with a focus on lifestyle behaviors that have the greatest impact on your health, and ability to prevent disease.
Is this program covered by my health insurance? No, this program is not covered by insurance. Unfortunately, health insurance does a much better job of covering health expenses once you have a disease, than in preventing it. Also, dealing with health insurance adds significant paperwork burden to our process and physicians, eating into your physician's time which is better spent engaging with you. Our programs are Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) eligible, and for the most part (always check with your health insurance provider ahead of time), lab work, and most recommended Level 1 preventive screening tests we recommend are typically covered by your health insurance, oftentimes without a cost sharing to you (no co-pay). Every health insurance company's policies and procedures are different, so we highly recommend you always check in advance to avoid any unexpected surprise bills from your health insurance company.
How much does the program cost? The HealthPrevent 360 program costs $589, and covers the following activities over a 3-5 day period: - Initial and final review by your board certified physician prevention expert - Clinical, Occupational, Environmental, and Lifestyle evaluation - Review of relevant clinical and diagnostic records from other healthcare professionals (must be securely uploaded) - Your personalized 5-year prevention action plan (including Level 1 and Level 2 preventive screening recommendations) - Local wellness recommendations, including healthy food and activity options near your home The HealthPrevent 360 PLUS program costs $789, and includes everything from the 360 program, plus, live support from a health coach, and a consultation with your assigned physician prevention expert at the end, to review your 5-Year prevention action plan real time. The HealthPrevent 180 program costs $199, is not guided by a physician, and results in a 2-Year prevention action plan following standard prevention guidelines. At the end of the 180 program, you will be given the opportunity to upgrade to the 360 program.
What are my costs after the program? The exact cost for consultations and testing based on the recommendations produced by our Healthier Clinic Prevention Program and your personalized 5-year prevention action plan can vary widely. They depend on several factors such as your insurance coverage, the specifics of your prevention plan, and the healthcare providers you choose to use. Many of the tests we recommend are considered "Level 1 screening tests", which are often covered by most health insurance plans without cost sharing (no co-pay). However, this varies by insurance company and plan, and it is always recommended to check with your insurance provider for exact coverage details. If your insurance plan includes a deductible, you would need to pay out-of-pocket until your deductible is met. After that, your insurance plan will start to pay a percentage of the costs. The specific out-of-pocket costs again would depend on the specifics of your insurance plan, the type of test, and where it is performed. In addition, the prevention program might recommend "Level 2" or advanced testing. These are new and emerging tests and may not be covered by health insurance. The costs for these tests can vary significantly based on the type of test and the provider. We strive to offer cost-effective solutions and will always discuss potential costs and alternatives with you. Lastly, some of the prevention measures could involve lifestyle changes or products that are typically not covered by health insurance. The costs for these would vary widely based on the specific recommendation. In all situations, our aim is to provide the best value for our patients by recommending prevention measures that are based on sound scientific evidence and are cost-effective. Also, given our non-bias guarantee, we never receive a commission or referral fee of any sort for services recommended. This way you can rest assured that the only possible reason we recommend a service, is because given our expertise and understanding of the science and your comprehensive evaluation, which includes budget, we believe it is the best option for you. Please note that all services and programs offered by Healthier Clinic are eligible for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and may qualify as medical expenses for tax purposes. Given these factors, it's challenging to provide a specific cost estimate without knowing your individual circumstances and the details of your prevention plan. However, we firmly believe that an investment in prevention today could lead to significant savings in future healthcare costs, not to mention the benefits of a healthier, longer life.
Can I use my HRA/HSA funds? The answer is Yes, but let me explain further for those not as familiar with HRA and HSA accounts. Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) are two types of accounts that provide tax advantages for healthcare expenses. 1. Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA): HRAs are employer-funded plans that reimburse employees for out-of-pocket medical expenses and individual health insurance premiums. The employer sets up the HRA and contributes funds to it that employees can use for eligible healthcare expenses. The great thing about HRAs is that the reimbursement you get for your healthcare costs is usually tax-free. However, you can't contribute to an HRA yourself; only your employer can. 2. Health Savings Account (HSA): HSAs are like personal savings accounts, but the money in them is used to pay for health care expenses. You — not your employer or the insurance company — own and control the money in your HSA. The money you deposit into the account is not taxed. To be eligible to open an HSA, you must have a special type of health insurance called a high-deductible plan. Now, as for using HRA or HSA for covering the expenses of the Healthier Clinic program and any subsequent costs: For HRA, as these are employer-funded, the usability on the expenses of our program would depend on the specific agreement between the employer and the provider managing the HRA. The rules can vary, but typically, if our program is considered a qualified medical expense (which it is), it should be eligible for reimbursement. For HSA, you can typically use the funds on any qualified medical expense, which again includes our Healthier Clinic program. The same would apply for subsequent costs for consultations and testing not covered by insurance, assuming these are also qualified medical expenses. In either case, you should check the specific terms of your HRA or HSA and consult with a tax advisor or your benefits administrator to confirm what expenses are covered.
Can I deduct the costs of this program from my taxes?Your accountant would have the last say, but our services are considered a qualified medical expense, and the IRS does allow individuals to annually deduct expenses beyond 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. Therefore, you could include the cost of this program as a qualified medical expense, combined with all your other qualified medical expenses for the year, and deduct the total amount ABOVE 7.5% of your adjusted gross income from your federal income taxes. Similar programs exist for state taxes, but vary state-by-state.
What if I do NOT live in the states where you currently offer the program? We currently offer our program in NY and rapidly expanding to the additional 15 states listed below, based on the medical licenses currently held by our physician prevention experts that lead consultations and the development of the 5-Year Prevention Action plans. During your consultations you will be asked to confirm that you are currently located in one of the states where we are currently offering services. We are actively working to expand our program across the entire United States, by 2024. In the mean time, you can provide your name, email and state of residence, and we can inform you as soon as we activate services in your state.
